Finding real love

1.You don't find love, love comes to you. If you really want to find true love forget about dating sites and party clubs, be patient. I know it's hard but be patient and as warning once you're ready to do anything for your love get ready to go through a hell lot of things. It's love, what did you think, it was gonna be easy?
  1. Find Your Soulmate Step 2 Version 3.jpg
    2
Get yourself out there. If you expect to find your soulmate at some point, chances are you're going to have to take part in the exciting activity known as dating. No, you're not alone; yes, it can be a hassle, and occasionally more than disappointing. But dating can take a lot of forms, and with a little bit of confidence, self-respect, and creativity, can help you find the person of your dreams.
    • Ask your friends if they know anyone who might be a good fit for you. Your friends spend a lot of time with you and understand your likes and dislikes. Trust them to set you up with someone they feel is a good match. If you don't hit it off, have the confidence to bounce back, stay on good terms with your date, and not blame your friend.
      Find Your Soulmate Step 2Bullet1.jpg
    • Attend functions, socials, and reunions. Have that out-of-town seminar looming? Look at it as a chance to meet someone in the same profession and maybe hit it off. The world works in mysterious ways; the more you attend events that interest you or involve your profession, the higher your chances of meeting that special someone will be.
      Find Your Soulmate Step 2Bullet2.jpg
    • Make your public profile interesting, engaging, and honest. Remember, this is what people will first digest when they look at your profile. If you take the time to add interesting details about who you are and where you come from, what you like and what you find funny, chances are the right sort of person will respond. If you're dishonest in your profile, the people you meet in person will eventually figure that out and probably won't respond well.
      Find Your Soulmate Step 2Bullet3.jpg
    • Make a genuine effort to reach out to people. Send interesting messages, and take the time to craft an engaging message. "I noticed you're in the auto industry, what do you think of this new car model?" is much likelier to elicit a response than "Hey, what's up?"
    • When you decide to meet your date in person, pick a public place and keep the first date short. A public place means your date will feel safe in a social environment. Even if your date is going really well, beg off after an hour and leave time for successive dates. You'll get many chances to feel more comfortable with the individual, and you won't risk exhausting things to talk about on the first date.
  2. Find Your Soulmate Step 3 Version 3.jpg
    3
Don't keep making the same mistakes.Dating is tough. Finding that person — much less that soulmate — who we feel understands us perfectly and meets all of our needs can take years. That's why it's important to keep growing as we date, and learn from our dating mistakes.
    • Don't put yourself in abusive relationships. An abusive relationship will cause you to lose trust in other people, blame yourself for other people's problems, and fall into an attitude of despair. Respect your own dignity and leave relationships in which your partner threatens you, insults you, becomes addicted to drugs, or manipulates you to get what they want. Seek a relationship expert or other professional if you suspect that you might be in an abusive relationship.
    • Don't fall back in with the same person you've dated and broken up with six or seven times. Psychologists say that we fall back into relationships with people we've broken up with because of comfort and familiarity: we don't have to start all over again and we know a lot already about the other person. Well, there's a reason you've broken up seven times. Probably more than one. Contrary to what they might say, your relationship probably won't change. Break the cycle and go looking for a new adventure!
    • Accept people for who they are, not who you want them to be. You've got all these fantasies flying around in your head about how wonderful and special your soulmate will be, and it can be easy to project those specific characteristics and features in anyone you get involved with. Unrealistic expectations can ruin a relationship, and might even chase your soulmate away. Whoever your soulmate may be, appreciate their individuality and trust that if this person is your soulmate, they'll never need to change who they are for you, just like you'll never need to change who you are for them.

Plus: Η απλή ανθρώπινη ψυχολογία θέλει εκείνον που έχει λερωμένη τη φωλιά του, να προσπαθεί να μειώσει τον αδικημένο, να τον κάνει να φανεί τιποτένιος, ένοχος για κάτι. Πώς αλλιώς θα πείσει πως για την απιστία δεν φταίει εκείνος, αλλά εσύ;

Plus: Ο σπιτόγατος άνδρας δεν γίνεται από την μία στιγμή στην άλλη party animal. Δεν είναι σαν εσάς τις γυναίκες που από τη μια στιγμή στην άλλη αλλάζετε τρόπο ζωής, ανάλογα με τη διάθεση! Για να γίνει ο... "σπιτόγατος", "κεραμυδόγατος" πρέπει στην σκεπή να βρίσκεται θηλυκιά γάτα! Με πιάνεις;

Money Talks... Δηλαδή, τα λεφτά μιλάνε. Δηλαδή, τα οικονομικά του μιλάνε. Για τσέκαρε λοιπόν; Μήπως έχει αυξήσει τα έξοδά του; Μήπως ψώνισε καινούρια ρούχα, ενώ μάλωνε εσένα για περιττά έξοδα; Μήπως ενώ ήταν πολύ συνεπής με τους λογαριασμούς του τώρα ξαφνικά ξεχνάει να πληρώσει κάποιους; Η ύπαρξη αιθέριας ύπαρξης στη ζωή του προϋποθέτει και κάποια φράγκα ή μάλλον κάποια εξτρά φράγκα από το μπάτζετ του. Γιατί όταν ο άντρας γνωρίζει καινούριο θηλυκό γίνεται ξαφνικά ανοιχτοχέρης -με την άλλη, όχι με σένα- για να πουλήσει μούρη. Και κάπου αυτό αρχίζει να φαίνεται. Για δες; Άλλαξε κάτι στη σχέση του με τα χρήματα;

Τι συνέβη ξαφνικά; Πώς έγινε και ο αδιάφορος έβγαλε από μέσα του τον Νάρκισσο; Μεταξύ μας, όλοι οι άνδρες τον κρύβουμε αυτό τον αρχαίο μας πρόγονο (τον Νάρκισσο ντε!). Και όλοι έχουμε ένα κομμάτι του κρυμμένο κάτω από το ύφος του χαλαρού και του οκ, που μας λέει ότι είμαστε και πολύ γκόμενοι όμως! Αν αυτό το καλά κρυμμένο κομμάτι του εαυτού του βγει απότομα στην επιφάνεια, τότε ίσως τα πράγματα δεν πάνε καλά. Τι τον κάνει να ψάχνεται για λούσα και φανταχτερά ρούχα, αν όχι μια άλλη γυναίκα; Ε;

Five Ways to Get Your Emotions under Control

Emotions are a vital part of our everyday lives. Whether you’re having a good laugh over a funny text message or feeling frustrated while stuck in rush hour traffic, you know that the highs and lows you experience can significantly affect your well-being.
Your ability to regulate those emotions, in turn, affects how you’re perceived by the people around you. If you’re laughing at that text during a serious meeting, you’re likely to get the “stink eye” from the others in the room. On the other hand, if you react with rage at a driver who cuts you off in traffic, you can engender unwanted attention and perhaps even risk your life.
The study of emotions is far from an exact science. Psychologists still debate the body-mind connection in emotional reactivity, don’t have a complete taxonomy of emotions, and are even uncertain about whether emotions are the cause or result of the way we construe the world. However, there are advances being made inunderstanding the concept of emotion regulation, the process of influencing the way emotions are felt and expressed.
Stanford University psychologist James Gross (2001) proposed a 4-stage model to capture the sequence of events that occurs when our emotions are stimulated.  In this model, that he calls the “modal model,” a situation grabs our attention, which in turns leads us to appraise or think about the meaning of the situation. Our emotional responses result from the way we appraise our experiences.
Some emotional responses are fine and require no particular regulation. If the emotion is appropriate to the situation and it helps you feel better, then there’s no need to worry about changing the way you handle things. Laughing when others are laughing is one example of an appropriate reaction that helps you feel better. Expressing road rage may make you feel better, but it’s not appropriate or particularly adaptive. You could express your frustration in other ways that allow you to release those angry feelings, or you could instead try to find a way to calm yourself down.
Calming yourself down when you’re frustrated may be more easily said than done. If you’re one of those people who tends to fly off the handle when aggravated, expressing your outrage to everyone within earshot (or on the other end of an email), your emotions could be costing you important relationships, your job, and even yourhealth.
An inability to regulate emotions is, according to Gross and his collaborator Hooria Jazaieri (2014), at the root of psychological disorders such as depression and borderline personality disorder.  Although more research is needed to understand the specific role of emotional regulation in psychopathology, this seems like a promising area of investigation. For example, people with social anxiety disorder can benefit from interventions that help them change the way they appraise social situations as is shown by research on cognitive behavioral therapy.  Many other people who are functioning at a less than optimal level of psychological health, Gross and Jazaieri maintain, could similarly benefit from education about how better to manage their emotions in daily life.
Fortunately, you can handle most of the work involved in regulating your emotions well before the provoking situation even occurs. By preparing yourself ahead of time, you’ll find that the problematic emotion goes away before it interferes with your life:
1. Select the situation. Avoid circumstances that trigger your unwanted emotions.  If you know that you're most likely to get angry when you’re in a hurry (and you become angry when others force you to wait), then don’t leave things for the last minute. Get out of the house or office 10 minutes before you need to, and you won’t be bothered so much by pedestrians, cars, or slow elevators.  Similarly, if there’s an acquaintance you find completely annoying, then figure out a way to keep from bumping into that person.
2. Modify the situation. Perhaps the emotion you’re trying to reduce is disappointment. You’re always hoping, for example, to serve the “perfect” meal for friends and family, but invariably something goes wrong because you’ve aimed too high. Modify the situation by finding recipes that are within your range of ability so that you can pull off the meal. You may not be able to construct the ideal soufflé, but you manage a pretty good frittata.
3. Shift your attentional focus.  Let’s say that you constantly feel inferior to the people around you who always look great. You’re at the gym, and can’t help but notice the regulars on the weight machines who manage to lift three times as much as you can. Drawn to them like a magnet, you can’t help but watch with wonder and envy at what they’re able to accomplish. Shifting your focus away from them and onto your fellow gym rats who pack less punch will help you feel more confident about your own abilities. Even better, focus on what you’re doing, and in the process, you’ll eventually gain some of the strength you desire.
4. Change your thoughts.  At the core of our deepest emotions are the beliefs that drive them.  You feel sad when you believe to have lost something, anger when you decide that an important goal is thwarted, and happy anticipation when you believe something good is coming your way. By changing your thoughts you may not be able to change the situation but you can at least change the way you believe the situation is affecting you. In cognitivereappraisal, you replace the thoughts that lead to unhappiness with thoughts that lead instead to joy or at least contentment.  People with socialanxiety disorder may believe that they’ll make fools of themselves in front of others for their social gaffes.  They can be helped to relax by interventions that help them recognize that people don’t judge them as harshly as they believe.
5. Change your response. If all else fails, and you can’t avoid, modify, shift your focus, or change your thoughts, and that emotion comes pouring out, the final step in emotion regulation is to get control of your response. Your heart may be beating out a steady drumroll of unpleasant sensations when you’re made to be anxious or angry.  Take deep breaths and perhaps close your eyes in order to calm yourself down. Similarly, if you can’t stop laughing when everyone else seems serious or sad, gather your inner resources and force yourself at least to change your facial expression if not your mood.
This 5-step approach is one that you can readily adapt to the most characteristic situations that cause you trouble. Knowing your emotional triggers can help you avoid the problems in the first place. Being able to alter your thoughts and reactions will build your confidence in your own ability to cope. With practice, you’ll be able to turn negatives into positives, and each time, gain emotional fulfillment.

You will always want a little piece of more heaven..😉

The art of optimism

The Science of Optimism
There is a even a branch of psychology, called Positive Psychology, led by Martin Seligman. Traditional psychology focuses on reducing suffering and mental illness. In contrast, positive psychology aims to increase wellbeing, which leads to the reduction of suffering and illness.  In his book “Flourish”, Selligman outlines complelling research which shows that optimism:
  • Enhances general psychological and physical well-being
  • Increases life span and is a major factor in recovery from serious illness, such as heart attacks
  • Lower rates of depression and stress
  • Improves immune system health including increasing resistance to the common cold
  • Builds resilience
  • Strengthens relationships
Optimism and children
Children model their parent’s behavior, more than anyone else’s behavior. I remember hearing my four year old say “that’s completely unacceptable.” I wonder where he got that from! Believe me, I know it’s hard to be positive, especially when things are difficult at home, but it’s well worth practicing being optimistic with, and around your children. If you do say something negative and significant, explain to your child that you could have been more positive. If you notice negative thinking in your child, mention it and model a positive spin, for them. For example your child says “I suck at basketball”; you say “you didn’t have a great game but you made a couple of great passes, don’t forget you are just learning, practice and you will get better”.
Teach your child that we all make mistakes: What defines us is how we respond after the mistake. You may chose to blame others, get angry or give up; OR you may chose to take responsibility, own up, say sorry, stay calm and become more determined to prevent the same mistake from happening again. Develop the mantra “there are no mistakes, only opportunities to learn”.
The Art of Optimism
If you are not an optimistic person, I have good news for you. Just like negative thinking, positive thinking is a habit which can be strengthened with practice. Meditation and journalling has been shown to be an effective way to increase optimism. Here are some ideas of what to journal about:
  • Something that made me happy today…
  • What went well in my day?
  • Something I am grateful for…
  • I felt engaged or passionate today when…
  • I felt good about myself because…
  • I am looking forward to…
  • I felt good about achieving…
  • Something I did today to enhance my relationships…
  • Something went wrong today, but this is what I learnt from it…
If you are an optimist then YAY… continue doing what you are doing. If you are on the pessimistic side, I hope I have convinced you that developing a more optimism, can have huge benefits and that increasing your optimism is easier than you might think.

What have you accepted within your life, physically and/or mentally? What are you still working on accepting?
I have accepted that life is tough sometimes, but when I am optimistic things in life, just seem to go better, they just do! I am still working on accepting that I need to be patient, when working towards by goals.
What have you learn to appreciate about yourself and/or within your life, physically and mentally? What are you still working on to appreciate?
I appreciate my health. Having worked with many thousands of people with health problems, I know for certain, that without good health life is an uphill struggle.
What is one of your most rewarding achievements in life? What makes YOU most proud? What goals and dreams do you still have?
That I learned to be optimistic! I have experienced several bouts of severe depression in my life, and I am so proud that I became determined to find ways to help myself and others become happier, healthier and more successful. My goals and dreams: to share my message, with many more women, to help them realise they must nurture themselves
We all have imperfections, so we think. The truth—we are all perfectly imperfect. What are your not-so-perfect ways? What imperfections and quirks create who you are—your Identity?
OMG, so many! Shiny object syndrome, is one of my imperfections… I get bored and distracted easily. It’s the flip side of my creativity, which is a huge part of my identity.
“I Love My…” is an outlet for you to express and appreciate all the positive traits that make you…well… YOU! Sharing what you love about yourself will make you smile, feel empowered, and uplift your spirit and soul. (we assure you!)
Identity challenges you to complete the phrase “I Love My…?
I Love My Life! I am grateful everyday for my amazing life… the good bits, the bad bits, all of which make me who I am!
